Fresno's Favorite Shrubs

Dwarf "Little John" Bottlebrush (callistemon citrinus "Little John") is becoming more popular as our unfortunate drought continues. This miniature variety of the common bottlebrush has outstanding characteristics and is highly suited for Fresno's climate.

You can plant this shrub in any sunny location, even hot spots next to concrete or asphalt. It's a compact grower with greenish-gray leaves around short arching branches. Bright red 'brush' flowers appear in late spring to summer adding interest to any yard.

Little John Bottlebrush is on most drought tolerant, low water use plant lists. It's moderate growing 2-4 ft. tall and requires little to no pruning. What more could you ask for in a shrub?
